Tarantino has said that despite it being a war film, Inglourious Basterds is a "spaghetti western but with World War II iconography." In addition to spaghetti westerns, the film also pays homage to the World War II "macaroni combat" sub-genre (itself heavily influenced by spaghetti-westerns). Inglourious Basterds was accepted into the main selection at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival in competition for the prestigious Palme d'Or and had its world premiere there in May. It was the only U.S. film to win an award at Cannes that year, earning a Best Actor award for Christoph Waltz.

Subs are separate, but there are hard subs that come with the movie for some dialogues, that's just the way it was made by the production company, has nothing to do with ripping. The subs are in sync with the movie I posted, don't ask me about other links. Enjoy!

a simple question : when said "language French", how to set it? am i obliged to use vlc ?
Nico: Those are the languages spoken in the film, when they speak german or french, you will get subs hardcoded in those languages. The movie version I uploaded is in English, and the subtitles are in this language too.
